Lassa Fever Virus Death Toll Rises To 40, 86 Placed In Isolation – Health Minister

As at the time of this report, 40 citizens have died as Lassa fever virus spreads across 10 Nigerian states.
According to Health Minister Prof Isaac Adewole, the total number of cases reported is 86 and 40 deaths.
22 out of the 86 suspected cases have been confirmed as Lassa fever.
The mortality rate is currently at 43.2%.
The Health Minister reminded Nigerians to avoid contact with rodents especially rat with 8 breasts.
