There was tension in the camp of Chelsea when Diego Costa and Oscar lost their cool and almost fought each other.
The pair were calmed down by teammates who were close to the scene, but the new coach, Guus Hiddink said that he never thought it was the kind of flash point that was going to lead to punches being thrown.
He said that both players had quickly made their peace. Jokes were made already afterwards, so it’s normal. Not normal but it’s a battle that happens when you are in the high intensity. It’s solved.
There will be no disciplinary action because peace has been made. Hiddink joked it was a pity that the club’s photographer was not on hand as he would have been able to capture some good material.
The pair have been pictured together 24 hours after the incident and appeared to have buried the hatchet and looked in good spirits during Friday’s session.
Indeed, midfielder Oscar took to social media to play down the incident which means that all is well.
