The Nigerian senate yesterday, revealed that the Senior Special Assistant to the President on the Senate, Senator Ita Enang, reproduced a budget document different from the original 2016 Appropriation Bill submitted to the National Assembly by President Muhammadu Buhari on December 22, 2015.
President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, who disclosed this vowed that the Senate would never consider the adulterated version of the bill.
According to the fresh budget submitted by Ita Enang, expenditures accruing to the presidency received a massive increase of additional N3.9 billion.
N3.6 billion previously earmarked for purchase of luxury BMW cars was reduced to N340 million while the Ministry of Solid Minerals headed by Dr. Kayode Fayemi curiously got a fresh N795,234,275 for website upgrade.
The office of the Chief of Staff to the president got additional N75 Million. The office of the Chief Security Officer (CSO) to the president, State House Medical Centre, and the State House Lagos Liaison Office each got 25,000,000 allocation increase.
