The Environmental Health Officers Association of Nigeria (EHOAN), Lagos State chapter, on Monday, said that it killed no fewer than 4,400 rats at six major markets in the state under its de-rat market programme.
Its president, Mr Samuel Akingbehin, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that his association carried out the exercise at Onigongbo, Oshodi, Oke-Odo, Ikotun Idanwo, Ojuwoye and Mile 12 markets.
He said that de-rating the markets was part of the association’s efforts to curb the spread of Lassa fever in the state.
"The exercise is strategic in our efforts toward the prevention of communicable diseases," he said.
Akingbehin appealed to traders from across the state to show an understanding towards the efforts of the association to rid the markets of rats and rodents. He said that the plan was to de-rat markets in one local government area per day starting from 5.00 p.m.
The association decided on this time to allow traders and buyers transact their legitimate businesses.
"We also decided to put the exercise in the evening due to the nocturnal nature of rodents and our members had recorded successes in the markets visited till date.
"It took us about three hours to cover the Oshodi market when our members went there for the exercise. Today, Monday, we will be visiting Suru-Alaba Market in Orile-Ifelodun LCDA by 5.00 p.m. with about 400 EHOs to de-rat it.
"We are still calling on all other executive secretaries of the local government areas to assist us toward the elimination of rodents in our markets and our environments," he said.

This is not the first time the actress will come hard on her fans.
The same episode played out last month and she ended up apologizing.
Telling your fan to commit suicide is a bit too far. Many of them look up to her as a role model.

Hypertension
Meningitis
Cough, Chest pain and breathing difficulty
Lassa Fever Treatment In Nigeria
We can’t talk treatment without first carrying out an accurate diagnosis in a laboratory or in a designated test center.
Here are the procedures for treating a person battling Lassa Fever diease
Isolation
The first step in the treatment of a carrier of the virus is admitting and isolating the person, while also ensuring that the patient’s body fluid and excreta are properly disposed in order to prevent the spread.
Aggressive Lassa Fever Treatment Using Ribavirin & Interferon Drugs
“For people to have a chance of survival, there must be early and aggressive treatment with a drug called ribavirin and of course the normal treatment you give to patients. There is also a drug we call interferon which can boost the immune system.
“The normal treatment for people who have such viral infection is you must make sure you test the person and ensure the patient has enough (intravenous) fluids. Also if the person has bled so much, there might be need for some level of transfusion.”
How To Prevent Lassa Fever Virus Disease In Nigeria
Being a viral infection, which can be easily spread, medical practitioners have always harped on prevention as the best form of treatment. Preventive measures in this regard refer to making efforts to control the rat population around the house, while also ensuring that no food is exposed to rodents since the urine and body fluid of rodents are the key things which cause Lassa fever transmission.
Some people eat rats; those people should be discouraged because transmission could happen when it is being prepared. It is just like we told people not to eat bats and bush meat during the Ebola period so people must make sure that they prevent contacts with rats and then they should cover their food very well.
For those who also like to gulp down canned drinks without running a careful check, there could also be a grim picture as using a tissue paper to clean the opening is not enough to safeguard against the virus. For it to be safe for drinking, there would be need to use soap and water, the medic added.
Do not drink directly from a canned drink. It can be dangerous because you don’t know whether rodents have urinated on them in the process of storage. It is important that we use soap and water to clean the openings of those things before they are served to people”.
Our food can get contaminated and if you eat without cooking, the possibility of getting infected is high. Once you cook the food items, you destroy the virus, so people smoking garri and all those kind of things are at risk. If the rodents urinate on the fruits and you pick up banana or carrot and you just start chewing it without washing, that could be dangerous, so it boils down to hygiene and cleanliness.

The rate at which marriages are collapsing these days is alarming. People rush into marriage for the wrong reasons.
They feel it’s just nice to marry. So Let’s marry! They forget it takes a lot to stay married hence if you are not ready, don’t rush into it. Don’t let “external pressures” force you to get married.
When/if marriage problems start, those who were giving you pressure will be nowhere to be found. God will reveal the right one at the right time, His time is the best!

Mr Ibu To Buhari: It Is Too Early To Fight Corruption
Hear what comic Nollywood actor John Okafor has to say about Buhari’s anti corruption drive in a recent interview
“It is too early to fight this. I would have preferred the government to set their house in order first. Set the administration going, make the people who voted you talk good of you as you are coming in. The corrupt people know themselves. While your good work is going on,you can then start picking them one after the other. Whoever that has offended government knows he or she has done so.
Government should set its house in order first. Let the good things about this administration flow first before the arrests. Let Nigerians talk good of you first, then you can now tell them, there are people who did this and that, that need questioning. But starting with this quarrel, fighting as a new government,I do not think it will help.
Many people are talking about hunger,no money, collapsed businesses among others. They would have first of all laid good foundation about their administration so that people will feel them first. The change should be seen in the peoples’ welfare and every other thing will follow. That’s my own idea.”

Nollywood Actor Kenneth Okonkwo Sues President Buhari For Not Appointing Ministers From Abuja
Popular Nollywood actor cum Barrister Kenneth Okonkwo has dragged President Buhari to court.
In the lawsuit with file number FHC/ABJ/CS/34/16, Mr Okonkwo wants Buhari to appoint a FCT indigene as one of his 36 ministers.
This is what the actor told Diamond Magazine recently:
“On November 11th, 2015, President Muhammadu Buhari inaugurated 36 ministers from the 36 states of Nigeria without appointing an indigene of the Federal Capital Territory as Minister. This is unconstitutional and discriminatory and has led to tensions in the FCT as the indigenes are becoming restive. All efforts to get the President to appoint an indegene of the FCT failed hence the need for this suit to compel the President to do the needful and avert a possible break down of law and order with catastrophic consequences in the FCT.”

Nigerian Man Beaten To Death By South African Police (Photos)
A Nigerian man simply identified as Victor was arrested in South Africa today over allegations of drugs possession and expired passport.
In another case of police brutality in South Africa, he was severely tortured and beaten to coma.
The criminals in uniform later dragged the Nigerian guy to their station in Kempton where he reportedly died of internal bleeding.
Nigerians stormed Kempton Police Station today demanding for justice.
Friends of the deceased said he was tortured to the point of death.
To cover up their mess, the police alleged that the Nigerian man died of drug overdose.
Mere looking at the man, one can sense he was tortured.
This is not the first time South African police will do this to a Nigerian
Below is a similar case that was caught on camera earlier this year
Why are Nigerians treated like animals in South Africa?
This act of intolerance is becoming unbearable.
RIP to the deceased.

Guys: 6 Best Ways To Stimulate The Clitoris Of Your Woman
Despite the fact that the clitoris is one of the most pleasure-inducing parts of a woman’s body, using it to bring about pleasure still remains a mystery to both men and women alike. The clitoris is literally the only part of the body whose sole purpose is to be a pleasure zone!
While this little “button” may appear small, it actually extends behind the vulva and is directly connected to the G-spot “allegedly!” Furthermore, much like the penis, the clitoris also gets engorged once aroused, making the phrase “getting a hard on” applicable to both men and women.
A vast majority of women, up to 70%, require clitoral stimulation during intercourse to achieve orgasm, which makes knowing how to maneuver around this sensitive little area your most important move when it comes to sexual satisfaction. Here are a few things you should be doing in order to bring pleasure through the clitoris.
#1 Always remember: repetition.
Women’s bodies, specifically the clit, respond best to repetition. If you’re using circular motions and she’s getting into it, don’t start switching to up and down motions! Always pay attention to your woman’s responses to know which motions she’d like you to keep doing.
#2 Oral pleasures.
Many women respond strongly to oral sex and feel that this is the only way they can orgasm with their partner. Whether you’re simply looking to get her excited or you want to show her the final destination, oral is a great starting point.
I used to think the oral sex move of using your tongue to write the alphabet around your partner’s clit was just a joke – it’s no joke! This is a great way to make sure you’re moving your tongue around, and it’s also good for learning which movements your partner responds to best. Remember not to ignore other sensitive areas of the vulva, either. Lick around the thighs, lips, and opening “if she’s into that” to give her an even more tantalizing experience.
#3 Use your hands.
We know it’s important to find out what your partner likes, but it’s equally important to find out how she likes it. There are many different ways to touch the clitoris.
A couple of ways to stimulate it is by touching it with circular motions, with direct stimulation, massaging it while the hood is still over it, rubbing it between your thumb and forefinger or between the lips of the vagina, going up and down, using lube, or by practicing some other technique your girl has discovered. It should also be noted that if you’re bringing your hands anywhere near the vagina, make sure your nails are clipped and clean since unwanted bacteria can cause UTIs, which are super painful and totally not sexy.
#4 Friction through dry humping.
Friction is a much-needed friend to clitoral orgasms. While the name doesn’t scream hot and sexy, dry humping is an amazing way to please the clitoris. Get your girl on top of you and have her grind up against your penis. This is a great way for girls to achieve orgasm. Make sure you are both wearing underwear for maximum friction for her. You can do this with the missionary position as well, but it will be easier for her to navigate her pleasure zones if she’s on top.
A naked version of this can also be done, but it may start to get a little slippery! If you do this naked in cowgirl position and she gets too wet to stay on track, simply switch positions, grab your penis, and start rubbing it in circles around her clit. She’ll thank you for it!
#5 Intercourse.
After you’ve engaged in a long, exciting session of foreplay and have your girl wet and excited, you’re probably ready to get down to business: intercourse. For many women, it is very hard to orgasm during intercourse without clitoral stimulation. Here are some easy, sexy positions that offer great clitoral stimulation:
– Doggy style. In this position, you have the option to reach around and play with her clitoris, or give her the opportunity to play with herself using her fingers or a sex toy.
– Missionary – CAT position. This is a great position for clitoral stimulation. Get in regular missionary position and then move above her, so that your pelvis is grinding against her clit as you thrust. Many women love this position for having orgasms from intercourse.
– Girl on top. This position is great, whether she is in cowgirl or reverse cowgirl, as she has the opportunity to find the best position for her to grind her clitoris against you and reach orgasm. If she’s the bouncing type, you can also use your thumb on her clitoris as she does her thing.
#6 Sex toys.
When in doubt, use a sex toy! A pocket rocket is a great toy to incorporate into your sex life as it’s not intimidating and is small enough that you can use it on your partner’s clit while you’re inside her or during foreplay to get her all riled up.
Thousands Return To Nigerian Town After Boko Haram Ouster
Kano (Nigeria) (AFP) - Thousands of Nigerian refugees, who fled to neighbouring Cameroon in 2014 to escape Boko Harm militants, have returned to the liberated northeastern town of Gamboru only to find their homes and their livelihoods destroyed, residents and officials told AFP Friday.
Over the past three days more than 15,000 Nigerians have crossed the 300-metre (yard) river bridge that forms the border with Cameroon, following calls by military and local leaders for residents to return, an official in Gamboru said.
"More are coming in everyday," he added.
Boko Haram fighters seized Gamboru in violence-wracked Borno state in August 2014, forcing thousands to flee across the border to the town of Fotokol on the other bank of the river in northern Cameroon.
Chadian forces reclaimed Gamboru in February last year, after intense fighting that left hundreds of insurgents dead, as part of a regional military coalition put together to crush the Islamist group which has become a threat to regional security.
"We found a looted and burnt out town which is a shadow of its former self," said Abacha Mari, one of those who returned to Gamboru on Wednesday.
"More than nine-tenths of the buildings in the town have been damaged by fire while the rest have been washed away by the rains," he added.
"Everything was looted and the streets are barely recognisable."
- 'Nobody found anything ' -
Gamboru has been repeatedly targeted in the Boko Haram insurrection which has cost the lives of 17,000 people in Nigeria and made over 2.5 million homeless since 2009.

Buharism: A Case For Revolutionary African Leadership
As an avowed Pan-Africanist, I have now developed a new kind of Afro-political concept through deep reflections. "Buharism" is a case for revolutionary African leadership in this 21st Century, where the propitious economy of Africa is tipped to emerge as a global power by 2050.
However, the diabolical state of contemporary African leadership across Africa's political spectrum continues to make the aforementioned vision a mirage. Yes, postcolonial Africa has seen a few revolutionary leaders like Kwame Nkrumah, Thomas Sankara and co whose leadership styles have had far-reaching effects on the foundations of their respective nations. Okay, that is just a piece of Pan-African history worth sharing. Yet the leadership of Muhammadu Buhari, incumbent president of Nigeria, is no less than revolutionary.
Can we find another African leader of his calibre today? Folks, I seek not to butter him up, so that I look like a sycophantic blogger. In fact, Muhammadu Buhari, the 73 year old erstwhile military ruler of Nigeria in the mid-1980's, is simply an incorruptible-cum-disciplinary leader whose creed is not greed but social justice. Indeed, economic prosperity for all and sundry in his native Nigeria is his endless passion as Nigeria's current president. "Africa's inability to identify its developmental problems and design an appropriate development programme is the reason for the poverty that has engulfed the continent" (Asare-Bediako and Asare-Bediako, 2007). But Mr. Buhari has defied the odds by clearly committing his presidency to ruthlessly solving the complex Nigerian crises. And the populous Nigerian nation of about 170 million people where 110 people are believed to be wallowing in poverty, still hold on to their reposed trust in the man of action.
Surprisingly, sources indicate that under the previous PDP administration, an estimated $150 billion went missing - this accounts for about 26% of Nigeria's GDP in 2014. Again, "Oil provides 70 percent of Nigeria's government revenue, but it is an industry plagued with malfeasance. Two years ago, the Central Bank reported $20 billion in missing oil-related funds," according to m.csmonitor.com. Also, the present government claimed that 55 people stole more than $6 billion between 2006 and 2013.

He is considered one of the greatest musicians to have come out of not juts Nigeria but as Africa as a whole and his classic hit “African Queen” would always be evergreen for generations to come.
2Baba was recently in an interview with City FM 105.1 and he talked a bit about his success. In the interview, the Hypertek boss who is also referred to as 2Baba by his fans revealed that he has just two cars.
This is very strange considering that he ranks as one of the highest earning musicians. He however disclosed in the interview that he is comfortable with the two cars rather than have many parks doing nothing. Talk about humility.
We all understand how the showbiz industry works, if you got it, you got to flaunt it so they know that you have it but it seems that 2Baba Idibia is not about that kind of lifestyle. Impressive right? No wonder he is so loved by many both home and abroad.

Edwin Clarke Writes Buhari On Tompolo
Renowned Ijaw leader, Edwin Clark, has advised President Muhammadu Buhari on the recent bombing of oil installations in the Niger Delta by some suspected militants as well as other issues relating to the region.
Clark, in a letter to the President dated January 22, 2016, urged Buhari to be very weary of those around him, saying they might be misinforming him, thereby creating more problems for him.
The vocal Ijaw leader, who condemned the recent bombing, charged the President to investigate it and prosecute those involved, rubbishing speculations that former militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo, better known as Tompolo, may have hands in the acts.
He described Tompolo as a civilized Nigerian that can never be part of the renewed bombing of the pipes.
“I totally condemn the vandalisation of oil and gas pipelines and will give you 100 per cent support for whatever action you take to bring the culprits to book. It is with heavy heart that I decided to take record of pipeline vandalisations that have taken place within the last two years,” he said.
Clark, who was once a Federal Commissioner for Information, urged Buhari to ensure the maintenance of peace and stability in the region.
He further urged the President to look into the proposed scrapping of the Maritime University in Okerenkoko, Warri South West Local Government, Delta State, which was established by former President Goodluck Jonathan and refund of the money already released for the project as disclosed by the Minister of Transportation, Chiibuike Rotimi Amaechi when he appeared before Senate Committee on Marine Transport, headed by Senator Ahmed Sani.
Clark said the Niger Delta region goes through humiliation and harassment by the government, stressing that the region should get better treatment than it is getting at the moment.

Korede Bello Stole Godwin From Me - Davido
I think 2016 has been the year of beef between the A-List music
Act. From ………….. We don’t need to mention , cos you already
know who we talking about.
According to a very reliable source, we can authoritatively report
that HKN Hit maker and Nigerian Music Superstar, Davido is laying
claim to, arguably, one of the BIGGEST songs of last year, the
song which we can say catapulted the young Mavin Artiste Korede
Bello, to the stratosphere of the Nigerian Music Industry.
Davido has outrightly accused Korede Bello of stealing the idea of
the hit song ‘God Win’ from him during a visit to his studio by the
latter.
He said:
“I have kept quiet about it all along, mostly because I’ve been trying to focus on other things and I’m like., “let the boy shine” but people have been making certain comments in the media and I’ve had it up to here.
That song is mine. It’s my intellectual property, and he stole it from me. The World needs to know.
Davido reportedly made the claim during a night out with members of the HKN gang, Shina Rambo and B-Red. When pressed for more information by our very reliable source, he went into a furious tirade, describing in detail how Korede Bello stole the song from him.
“I made a huge mistake allowing him into my studio! Huge mistake!!! He had come together with the rest of the MAVIN Crew and The Don himself, they wanted to discuss a collaboration between me and Reekado, I was even considering doing a song with him too. This is how he pays me?! Mahn! I had written God Win 2 nights before, though the lyrics were a bit different he Changed them!
The original version was:
‘I don get her number, God Win. She come into my bed na God Win… I spray her my dough na God…
Why was I singing about girls and money at the same time
I was singing about God? Let’s not talk about. The bottom-
line is, he found the lyrics lying in the studio in the small book I wrote it in. I know he was the last person who
looked at that book, After they left I started looking for it. I went to check the exact place I kept it, it was smelling like Relaxer and Jerry Curl Cream and Pink Oil… Reekado has
dada, Di’ja was wearing wig, Don Jazzy barbed skin
cut, D’Prince was smelling like Olay cream but what I
perceived was Vaseline, Dr Sid didn’t come with them… so
I knew it was Korede *lol*. I just decided to fash it off…
Next thing I know some weeks later.
“I HEAR THE SONG ON THE RADIO! AND IT SOUNDED BETTER THAN I EXPECTED! I WAS VERY ANGRYYYYY!”
at this point Davido tosses a glass of champagne angrily across the room but it bounces off a cushion and hits Shina Rambo on the head. Shina passes out. Davido doesn’t care. He continues…
Well!
I just left it, you know, let the boy have a hit. Then I
watched an interview after the Headies where that PulseTV guy asked a man on the street what the best song of 2015 was? and you know what the man said?! GOD WIN! He even sang the song! That was when I lost it”.
In light of these accusations, we tried to reach Korede Bello for comments. All he had to say was ‘Egbon Davido, if you want the song back… please don’t want it back! This is my biggest song!”….
Why did Davido Wait This Long To Lay Claims? Or is he afraid of the
Mavins?
