-There's no sufficient evidence that wearing a mask would protect an otherwise healthy person from contracting the virus, however it may help reduce its spread.

This is the criminal report card of Femi Gbajabiamila, the man Tinubu is promoting to be Speaker of the House of Representatives
How MTN Have Been Defrauding Nigerians
MTN Nigeria is a fraudulent enterprise. it has broken all the known laws, defrauded citizens using Nigerian collaborators who are listed as A list shareholders such as Gbenga Oyebode, Pascal Dozie, Sani Mohammed Bello, Babatunde Folawiyo, Victor Odili, and Ahmed Dasuki.
Between May 16, 2019, when MTN listed on the Stock Exchange to Friday, May 24, 2019, the MTN gangsters who are called A list shareholders through fraudulent share manipulation pocketed $7.8billion with the connivance of top echelon of the NSE.
The fraud involves manipulating MTN shares and trading it among themselves using Access Bank's Aig Imoukhuede and Albert Wigwe known in the financial circles as big-time manipulators through Coronation Merchant Bank, Coronation Capitals.
Curiously, most of the A list shareholders of MTN are also A list shareholders in Coronation Merchant Bank/Coronation Capital and even Access bank so they keep MTN shares among themselves.
Since May 16 MTN Nigeria listed in the Nigeria stock exchange, its stock jumped 41%, closing at 140 naira per share on Friday, giving the company a market capitalization of 2.8 trillion naira ($7.8 billion). Stockbrokers who sensed the fraud wrote a petition to the EFCC!

Taylor Swift Disses Kanye West At Grammy Awards
It is interesting that following rapper Kanye West jibe at pop princess, Taylor Swift in his song “Famous” that he made her famous, she has remained silent despite the fact that many of her celebrity fans have come out to support her and openly slam Kanye.
Little did we know that this diva was saving the best for the last as the “Bad Blood” singer took a swipe at Kanye at the Grammy awards.
Taylor Swift won album of the year for the second time in a row and she didn’t hesitate to remind the people in the crowd that this makes her the first woman in the history of Grammy Awards to achieve that feat.
She then went on to add that people would always want to steal a person’s credit for their success but they shouldn’t let anybody sidetrack them which is an obvious response to Kanye’s diss.
Taylor won a total of three awards for the night while she also performed her song “Out Of The Woods” which apparently brought her to tears because when she went back to her best friend, Selena Gomez, she mouthed that she missed a note while performing.

Adele Had A Bad Day At The Grammy Awards, Here Is Why
This year’s recently Grammy awards has been subject to quite a number of controversies as there were a lot of things that didn’t just go right at the awards show.
From Rihanna cancelling her scheduled performance to Taylor Swift missing her notes then to “Hello” singer, Adele having issues with the sounds.
Adele who was one of those that was scheduled to perform at the Grammy awards had her mic cut out early during her performance of her song “All I Ask” which made her go a little bit off.
But then her professionalism as a singer kicked in because she defined what we all know as the show must go on and went on to deliver a powerful rendition of her song with or without the mic.
This is not the first time an artiste would be having technical issues while performing but one has to commend Adele for being a pro with it despite the piano acting up.
She later took to Twitter to explain to her fans that the guitar gave her issues making everything out of tune but then shit happens. She then went on to say that for this she is treating herself to in and out.

Naira Devaluation & Falling Oil Prices: A Marshall Plan For Nigeria
A Marshall Plan for Nigeria, an article by Tony Ogunlowo
At the end of the Second World War, with much of Europe in ruins and struggling to cope with the aftermath of six years of conflict, under the Marshall Plan of 1948 America gave $13 billion dollars to Western European countries to help rebuild their countries. It wasn’t just a major financial package designed to help re-build major infrastructure, factories etc. destroyed during the war but also to make Europe prosperous again, dropping trade barriers using new business procedures, preventing the spread of communism and bringing in new improved working conditions.
Nigeria is in the same predicament right now. Economically in ruins, not by wars or conflict but of years and years of mismanagement which has seen politicians squandering billions and billions of dollars of public funds intended for capital projects.
The current planned National Integrated Infrastructure Master Plan (NIIMP) which was approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) in 2014 aims to raise the country’s stock of infrastructure to at least 70% of GDP by 2043.
All good in theory but where’s the money going to come from considering the implementation of phase one alone will cost at least 165 US billion dollars.
With the current falling oil prices the current government is in trouble; budget obligations may not be fulfilled, austerity measures will have to be introduced, inflation will rise and growth will fall seriously jeopardizing any future large scale projects.
Right now emphasis should not be on short term borrowing to plug the holes in the budget deficit. This will only be a temporary solution to an ongoing problem. Money is needed, not only to make up the shortfall but also for the overhaul of major capital infrastructure such as oil refineries, power stations and Federal roads which are currently crumbling to pieces or falling into neglect due to lack of maintenance and upgrading.
Bringing in cost-cutting measures in an attempt to diversify much needed funds will not work. There are too many needy sectors. The Structural Adjustment Programme, SAP, devised by the Babangida administration is a clear indication that such programmes will not work on a long time basis.
Nobody will give us a ‘Marshall-Plan-style’ grant because its believed we’re rich enough and don’t need handouts. What is needed is a very big loan from a foreign financial institution or country. It will have to be very long term, say 25 to 50 years, at a fixed rate. It will be solely for the capital projects that will benefit the country on the long run.
Such a loan, even though foreign lenders might demand it, might prevent the official devaluation of the Naira. With the value of the currency intact, capital flight (-pulling money out of the country) will be greatly minimized and will also encourage foreign investors to invest.
The advent of the Buhari administration has seen a renewed confidence, by foreign concerns, in Nigeria’s ability to pick itself up from problems created by previous administrations. The recent rise in offered help to fight growing problems such as Boko Haram and corruption is a clear indication of this.
Whilst foreign lenders are not actually queuing up to lend us money due to our past record of mismanagement and kleptomania, countries like Britain and America, would not hesitate to put a bailout package together if properly sought. Again reassurances will have to be made that the money lent will go directly to the intended projects and not end up in some kleptomaniac politician’s offshore account. We are all aware of the Obama arms embargo placed on Nigeria previously, under the Leahy Act, due to our dismal human rights record and pilfering. So if they do decide to bail us out they will be watching us like hawks ready to pull the plug if we default.
Oil is plentiful in the world now with more and more countries producing crude oil. Prices will continue to drop as the market stagnates and Nigeria needs to diversify into areas such as agriculture to provide a secondary income to oil. Currently agriculture only accounts for 20.24% of the GDP as of 2014.
It is another area where Nigeria can earn substantial income. India earns a fortune for being the IT outsourcing country in the world providing crucial IT back-up for firms in America and Europe. If the antics of the ‘Yahoo, Yahoo boys’ are anything to go by we have the raw talent but lack the infrastructure. Thousands of Nigerian students graduate each year in one IT field or another with no outlet or employment for their skills leaving them to turn to mischief e.g 419, scamming etc. A major investment in telecommunications and power stations is needed.
Secondary sources of income generation need to be sought to supplement the income from oil and the necessary infrastructure put in place. All this costs money, not the kind of money currently being earned from oil sales, but a huge capital injection of funds that can only come from a Marshall-Plan-style foreign bailout.

FAYOSE TO BUHARI: ‘WITHDRAW 2016 BUDGET, IT’S A NATIONAL EMBARRASSMENT’ (MUST READ)
Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has urged President MuhammaduBuhari to save the country of the national embarrassment being caused by the 2016 Budget that he presented to the National Assembly by formally withdrawing the budget and re-presenting it.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday, by his Special Assistant on Pubic Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, the governor said “the President should admit that there were avoidable errors in the budget and since he is human and not immune to errors, he should simply do the needful by presenting a new and credible budget to the National Assembly.” Buhari-FayoseGovernor Fayose described revelation by the Health Minister, Prof. Isaac Adewole, that the proposal drawn up by the ministry and submitted to the budget office had been doctored and that “foreign” appropriations, different from what was submitted, had been sneaked in,as the height of national embarrassment. While addressing the Senate Committee on Health during its budget defence session on Monday, Prof Adewole had stunned the Senators when he said; “We have to look into the details of the budget and re-submit it to the committee. This was not what we submitted. We’ll submit another one. We don’t want anything foreign to creep into that budget. What we submitted is not there.” The minister went further to say that in the revised budget as re-submitted, N15.7 billion for capital allocation was moved to other areas and that there was nothing allocated to public health and family health. In his reaction, Governor Fayose said: “Last week, we were told that the Senate discovered a sum of N10 billion questionably smuggled into the budget of the Ministry of Education for an allegedly questionable subhead. “Also, we were told of the existence of a budget mafia in the Presidency that was said to be responsible for the embarrassing allocations in the Budget. “Before now, we were told that a totally N3.87 billion was allocated for capital projects at the State House Clinic alone, over N700 million more than capital allocation to all the 16 federal teaching hospitals combined. “Now, a whole minister has come out to say that budgetary provision for his ministry was forged! “If under a President that says he is fighting corruption, the budget of the country got missing and we are now being told that the budget being considered by the National Assembly has been forged, one cannot but be afraid that there is possibility of Nigeria being forged one day, after the original must have gone missing.”

Olisa Metuh Bought N500m House, Gave Kema Chikwe N5m – Witness
A detective with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Junaid Sa’id, told a Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday that the $2m allegedly laundered by the spokesperson for the Peoples Democratic Party, Olisa Metuh, was part of the N10bn which the immediate past National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.), released for the party’s presidential convention in 2014.
The then President Goodluck Jonathan was adopted as the party’s sole candidate at the said convention.
Metuh and his company, Destra Investments Limited, are being prosecuted by the EFCC for allegedly receiving N400m in a fraudulent manner from the ONSA in November, 2014 and also on
charges of money laundering of cash transaction involving $2m.
The EFCC had called as its first prosecution witness, Nneka Ararume, a former employee of Asset and Resource Management Company Limited, who narrated how Metuh handed her the $2m in $100 bills at his house in the Prince and Princess Estate, Abuja.
Sa’id testified as the eighth prosecution witness on Tuesday.
Under cross-examination by lead defence counsel, Onyechi Ikpeazu (SAN), Sa’id informed the court that Dasuki had withdrawn a sum of N10bn from the Central Bank of Nigeria and converted same to $47m.
He said the money was then given to aides of former President Jonathan for sharing to some PDP members.
Apart from the N400m paid directly to Metuh’s firm’s account from the ONSA’s account with the CBN, Sa’id testified that Metuh got the sum of $2m from the N10bn released by Dasuki.
The witness said under cross-examination:
“In the course of investigation, it was revealed that the former NSA had withdrawn about N10bn from the CBN and converted same into dollars which amounted to around $47m.
“He gave the money to the then Aide de Camp to the then President and his Special Adviser, Domestic, to the then President, to share to some PDP party members for the PDP presidential convention.
The $2m given by the 1st defendant to Nneka Ararume (first prosecution witness) was strongly linked to that disbursement of the $47m, which was converted in November, 2014 and shared out to some PDP members for its presidential convention.
“There is no document in respect of this transaction, because the money was shared in cash. The document is part of the charges being prepared against those involved. Investigation revealed that Ararume used to work with ARM Investment. During the course of this transaction, she worked with ARM Investment.”
Earlier in his evidence-in-chief, Sa’id, who was led by the lead prosecuting counsel, Mr. Sylvanus Tahir, gave details of how Metuh allegedly disbursed the N400m he received from the ONSA.
He said while Metuh retained N50m for himself, he gave part of the N400m to former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the PDP, Tony Anenih; former Minster of Aviation, Kema Chikwe, among others.
The witness said:
“Among the disbursements made were a total sum of N77.1m was paid to one Yomi Badejo Okusanya of CMC Connect to carry out campaign activities for the PDP.
“In similar vein, the sum of N25m was paid to Abbah Dabo to carry out campaign activities. Another N21,776,000 was paid to Chief Anthony Anenih; N5m was discovered to be paid to Chief Kema Chikwe.
“Another sum, N50m, was transferred to the joint account of the 1st defendant (Metuh) and his wife in the name of Olisa and Kanayo Metuh.”
He added that his investigation also revealed that::
“N500m was discovered to have been transferred to one Daniel Paul International Ltd. in two tranches of N200m and 300m for the purpose of purchasing a landed property at Banana Island in Lagos by the 1st defendant (Metuh).”
He also confirmed that Metuh used the money received from the NSA office for campaign activities of the PDP.
He said:
“The interview and investigation carried out confirmed that money received by Badejo Okusanya of CMC Connect were used to carry out media campaign activities for the PDP on the instruction of the 1st defendant.
“In similar vein, the money received by Abbah Dabo was also used for media services for the PDP campaign. In the course of investigation, Alhaji Abbah Dabo, having learnt that the money he was paid came from the ONSA, then, refunded the money.
“Investigation revealed that N88.5m was transferred to Tiboro Nigeria Ltd., for the purpose of sourcing foreign exchange. It was able to only source 66,000 British pound, after which it returned the balance to Destra. The 66,000 pounds was paid into an account outside Nigeria as instructed by the first defendant.
“Investigation carried out by the commission with respect to funds paid out by the former NSA has led to two separate pending charges before the FCT High Court.”
The witness also narrated how Metuh allegedly tore part of the statement he made at the EFCC, while being interrogated.
Metuh was arraigned along with his company, Destra Investment Limited, on January 15 on seven counts of fraudulently receiving N400m from the NSA office in November 2014. He was also accused of laundering $2m cash.
The trial judge, Justice Abang adjourned till February 18.

Retired Nigerian Soldier Sleeping Under Oshodi Lagos Bridge For 17 Years Rejects Relocation Offer
Sule Yusuf, an 83-year-old retired soldier, Pa Sule Yusuf, who has been sleeping under the Oshodi Bridge for 17 years in Lagos, has rejected the offer of relocation to his country home, Igboora, in Oyo State.
Igbo ora Progress Union (IPU), the umbrella association of Igboora indigenes told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan yesterday that Yusuf is adamant he will not relocate from this present abode.
The news of Yusuf’s 17 years sojourn under the bridge was widely reported in the media on January 6, which necessitated the intervention of his community.
Yusuf was said to have been sleeping under Oshodi Bridge since 1999 after he allegedly lost contact with his family.
He claimed to have retired from the Nigerian Army, and lost contact with his wife and children, but decided to stay in Lagos.
The man was reported to have been spared severally during constant raid of the area by policemen due to his identity as a retired soldier.
Mr. Akinyemi Akinlabi, who spoke on behalf of IPU said the news was “shocking and pathetic.”
Akinlabi, a former caretaker chairman of Ibarapa Central Local Government, said the IPU, under the leadership of Justice John Ige (retd), swung into action after reading the publication.
Akinlabi said the union promptly directed two members, Mr. Wole Ogunsola and Mr. Muyideen Salami to visit Yusuf, which they did at exactly 11.00am same day the news was published.
Ogunsola and Salami confirmed that Yusuf told them he was from Ile-Ekerin, Isale-Oba in Igboora, the same compound, where Ogunsola hailed from.
Akinlabi said thereafter, the union met with Yusuf’s family to find solution to the problem.
Contacted, family members said he was not abandoned but had from childhood cultivated the habit of living under the bridge.
A member of the family, who refused to be named, said “Yusuf has a room and parlour in his family house in Igboora, which he locked up but used anytime he came to Igboora.
“He was in Igboora two years ago for the burial of his elder sister.
“He has declined several attempts to relocate him to Ejigbo by his younger sister, Amudat, who lived in Ejigbo.
Also contacted, Amudat said she visited him regularly at Oshodi and also took him to Ago-Iwoye to remove cataract from his eyes less than two years ago.
Meanwhile, the IPU has assured it would do everything possible to relocate Yusufu to Igboora.
